Drake Drops 'Scary Hours 2'; 5 Things To Know

Drake has shared his new EP ‘Scary Hours 2’.

The Canadian icon is still prepping new album ‘Certified Lover Boy’, a project pushed back by his recent surgery.

Instead, fans have been gifted ‘Scary Hours 2’ – a three tracker, you can stream it below then check out five key take aways…

1. Drake and Rick Ross continue their heavyweight partnership.

Rick Ross has helped guide some of Drake’s defining moments – think ‘Diced Pineapples’, ‘Stay Schemin’ and ‘Money In The Grace’ – and he returns on this new EP. Lightning up the final track, ‘Lemon Pepper Freestyle’ has electrified fans – it’s one of Drake’s rawest efforts for years.

2. ‘Wants And Needs’ features a Kanye West reference.

And it’s not a flattering one, either. Contrasting Yeezy’s religious and spiritual outpourings with his ego-centric musings, Drake raps: “Yeah, I probably go link to Yeezy / I need me some Jesus / But as soon as I start confessin’ my sins, he wouldn’t believe us…”

3. Drake finally acknowledges Adonis on record.

The existence of Drake’s son was confirmed some time back, but this is the most direct reference yet to fatherhood and its attendant responsibilities. The lyrics suggest some tension during the early years – although Drake has more recently insisted that he and the mother remain on good terms.

He raps: “I sent her the child support, she sent me the heart emoji / They all say they love me but they hardly know me… Dropped him off at school, big day for my lil’ man / Recess hits, daddy probably made another M”.

4. It’s a Lil Wayne love affair.

Drake makes two – count ’em! – Weezy references across the EP. He raps “I’m moving way too humble / Weezy handed it off, I still got no fumbles…” before later insisting: “We all grateful for Weezy, but no one more than me.”

5. ‘Lemon Pepper Freestyle’ is one of the best things Drake has ever done.
