London's Crobar Raises £40,000 In Crowdfunder

London rock spot The Crobar has raised £40,000 in a new crowdfunder.

The Central London bar was a renowned rock hangout, yet sadly it closed its doors last September.

Pushed to the wall by the pandemic, its loss was mourned by a host of icons, including Foo Fighters’ mainman Dave Grohl.

A crowdfunder to help the owners gain new premises, and resurrect the Crobar was launched, and it has raised a whopping £40,000.

Crobar owner Richard Thomas comments: “I have to admit, I did a little dance when we hit £40,000, as it gave me hope and more determination to save Soho and reopen The Crobar.”

“I know we meant a lot to our customers, but I didn’t realise just how much! People want a proper Rock ‘n’ Roll bar to remain in Soho. Otherwise, where else will they go?”

He adds: “There is so much history here and it does feel to many that all roads in London lead to this area.”

Meanwhile, a new documentary about the Crobar and its clientele has been launched, which goes live on YouTube on January 27th at 8pm.
