New Pagans Channel Folk Horror For Hand-Made 'Admire' Video

New Pagans are on the move.

The band’s new EP ‘Glacial Erratic’ is out on March 6th, and it’s set to be accompanied by a full UK tour.

The dates will undoubtedly be packed out, with word spreading about this electrifying new group.

Biting new single ‘Admire’ leads the way, recalling those lo-fi early Wolf Alice jams or even elements of PIXIES.

The video for the clip was created and directed by bassist Claire Miskimmin and vocalist Lyndsey McDougall, using only their phones as technology.

Shot in Newtownards, Dingle & Maine USA, there’s a folk horror edge to proceedings which touches on the uncanny.

“The video was inspired by folk horror, the Irish countryside and all things ritualistic”, Claire explains, “’Admire’ is a peculiar love song about sticking around for someone, after the spark of newness has gone and the video depicts an offering to an imagined deity, a pact entered into, an altar where a sacrifice is made.”

With a 90s slant to the aesthetic, the clip is a gripping yet also insightful glimpse into some of the themes behind the band’s work.

Tune in now.
