Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka came out victorious at the 2021 Australian Open on Saturday (February 20) to clinch her fourth Grand Slam title at the age of 23. To celebrate the triumph, she headed to Instagram to show off her trophy and took the opportunity to preview an unreleased song by her rapper boyfriend Cordae.

Osaka posted a clip wearing Los Angeles Lakers gear with different angles of her prize, along with an untitled track playing in the background. Cordae added in the comments, “That unreleased tho.”

“I ain’t got the time today,” Cordae raps on the song. “Money on my mind n-gga, I got to grind today/Get that shit on delay, tell my brothers you ain’t gotta worry I’ma find a way/Shit gon’ line in place.”

During a conversation with GQ for the magazine’s March 2021 cover story, Osaka revealed Cordae plays her new material before anyone else.

“Yeah, but he had to warm up to me,” she admitted. “And I had to do a lot of pleases. ‘Please, sir, can I just please listen to your song?’ Eventually, he let me listen to his music, which I feel really grateful and honored about, to be honest. He’s a perfectionist, and I think that’s sort of what I am too. So maybe that’s why we get along.”

Cordae added, “She’s musically inclined, though. She has a good ear. I don’t really trust too many people’s ear like that. You get what I’m saying? She has a widespread ear. And that’s the way she thinks as well: worldwide.”

Third seed Osaka defeated Jennifer Brady 6-4, 6-3 in straight sets on Saturday (February 20) to secure her second Australian Open title after winning the tournament in 2019. On her road to the final, she beat seven-time Australian Open winner Serena Williams in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 to earn the semi-final victory. Osaka previously beat Williams in the final of the 2018 U.S. Open to win her first-ever Grand Slam.

Cordae was forced to watch from home this time around, unlike his appearance at the 2020 U.S. Open where he showed his enthusiastic support from the crowd.
