Tyler The Creator Rates Throwback Rap Classics From Kanye West, Snoop Dogg & David Banner

Tyler The Creator woke up in a chatty mood Monday morning (October 26). The Flower Boy rapper took a trip down memory lane when reminiscing on some of his favorite tracks and albums from his childhood.

Tyler was perplexed to find out a couple of projects such as Snoop Dogg’s Tha Last Meal and Erykah Badu‘s Mama’s Gun were turning 20 later this year. He later dropped the link to “?” from OutKast‘s critically-acclaimed Stankonia album, which also leaves its teenage years behind on Halloween.

His stream of consciousness continued to shout-out Lil Wayne‘s freestyle over Fam-Lay’s “Git Busy.” He also thought back to seeing John Mayer and Kanye West previewing their mournful “Bittersweet Poetry” collab on MTV. The track would appear only on the Japanese version of Graduation as a bonus track.

Tyler wrote, “Ohhh remember when ye and john mayer had bitterweet snippet on mtv. John mayer was a baddie in his lil sweater and shit.”

Tyler then showed love to the hard-hitting production of David Banner‘s “Like A Pimp” featuring Lil’ Flip, before jumping around to imagining Snoop rhyming over JAY-Z‘s spacey “F**k All Nite” and playing the title track from Kanye West and Kid Cudi‘s Kids See Ghosts.

Kanye and Cudi gave their first official performance as Kids See Ghosts as the headlining act to close out Tyler’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival in 2018 at Dodger Stadium.

Before signing off, the Grammy Award-winning rapper made sure to put his hopes to connect with comedic legend and former late-night host Jay Leno to one day see his rare collection of classic luxury cars.
