Crawlers have shared new single ‘Call It Love’.
The Liverpool band are a force to be reckoned with, an electrifying live experience with a dogged cult following. The past year has seen Crawlers race around the UK, but they’ve found time to finish their eagerly-awaited debut album.
Out on February 16th, ‘The Mess We Seem To Make’ could be their breakout moment, with each single feeling like a real statement from the Mersey band.
‘Call It Love’ is no exception. The perfect fusion of light and shade, the mascara-strewn tears of the lyrics carry an innate glamour, while also picking apart relationship toxicity.
The chorus kicks hard, while the production preserves Crawlers’ riotous live sound, while adding a sense of focus. “‘Call It Love’ romanticises the desire to love someone despite it being a toxic situation. You call a relationship love because you feel like that’s what you deserve, but that doesn’t mean that that’s what it actually is,” says lead singer Holly Minto of the track.
