Elkka fizzes with energy on new club cut ‘Babe’.
The producer’s new EP ‘DJ Friendly’ is out on October 27th, released via Ninja Tune. The project follows her recent DJ-Kicks mix, which was peppered with fantastic club ideas and electronic innovation.
Out now, ‘Babe’ is a neat preview of the EP as a whole – layered in infectious system energy, it revels in directness, displaying as astute sense of playfulness.
About as up-front as Elkka gets, ‘Babe’ embodies the heady energies of summer, and comes just as those memories begin to fade. Perfectly timed, then, for those Autumn raves…
Elkka comments:
‘DJ Friendly’ is the expression of the urges and intensity that the club space gives to me. I feel like I tend to walk a tightrope between the club and more live-facing music.
This one is firmly on the club side. Sometimes I need to release that side of me, inspired by the parties I have played at and partied in over the summer. It builds and builds until the urges are met and I can refresh and allow myself to start again creatively. I’ve been playing the tracks in my sets all summer and the crowd reactions have been giving me so much energy, so I hope it translates at home.
Tune in now.
