So that was The Great Escape 2023. Over three days countless groups, musicians, songwriters, and producers descended on Brighton, reinforcing the event’s reputation for platforming the very best in new music. Clash was there every step of the way, and we were delighted to return to the south coast to hold down the fort across two stages.

Taking place on the opening day of the festival, we brought together Teesside provocateurs Benefits, Bristol maverick Bingo Fury, Australian group RVG, and Chicago based rapper McKinley Dixon.

But that wasn’t all. Down at SHOOSHH by the waterfront, we hosted Polak GBP, pop voice Cole Bleu, ADMT, and freshly unveiled bedroom pop supergroup FIZZ.

Photographer Ciara McMullan hopped in a cab between venues, with the team rush up and down the street to capture the action.
