Hudson Mohawke and Tiga will convene as Love Minus Zero for a full-length album.
The duo recently shared a single together, and have taken part in numerous B2B sets over the years. Cementing this partnership, Hudson Mohawke and Tiga have built a full album together, under the collaborative moniker Love Minus Zero.
The new LP is titled ‘L’Ecstasy’ and will be released on December 1st, and it’s led by evocative single ‘In Order 2’. “Some songs you make, you love more than others. The other songs might sense this and start making out with neighbourhood bad boys to get my attention, but it’s just not going to work,” says Tiga.
He adds: “This song captures the whole reason we started making music together — Ross’ perfect melancholic chords allowed me to express a genuine longing that I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. And we did it all with some lost neo-warehouse sunrise vibes.”
If there’s a heart-on-sleeve aspect to the production then that’s entirely on purpose – the pair are putting their emotions front and centre. Tiga continues: “Ultimately, though, we wanted to make a song that makes you feel something just by reading about it, and I think we’ve done that. One Love — for real this time, not like all the other times I said it…”
Artwork comes from noted photographer Wolfgang Tillmans, who reached out after hearing the track during Love Minus Zero’s Sonar performance in Barcelona.
