Mura Masa Unveils Double Single ‘Rise/Gimme’

Guernsey-born electronic maverick Mura Masa has unveiled double single ‘Rise/Gimme’.

Coinciding with the release, Mura Masa will play the main room at Fabric today in celebration of the iconic club’s twenty-fourth birthday, before his Boiler Room Berlin slot on November 16th. 

‘Rise / Gimme’ is essential listening. ‘Rise’ is exhilarating gospel-house featuring a looped vocal sample from singer-songwriter Nadiah Adu-Gyamfi (fka MOKO, and now releasing under her project NADIAH), whilst ‘Gimme’ is a more cerebral dancefloor experiment first previewed on his recent BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. The dual release transcends nostalgia, evoking rave-era glory without falling under mimicry.
