Onipa’s ‘Fine Tho’ Is Part Of Their Coming-Of-Age Arc

Onipa have shared their sizzling new single ‘Fine Tho’.

Out now, the single is part of their coming-of-age arc, and points to incoming album ‘Off The Grid’. Out on October 6th via Peter Gabriel’s Real World Records, it was pieced together by central duo Tom Excell and Kewku Sackey.

The duo are joined by Finn Booth on drums, and Wonky Logic on synths; guests on the record include Moonchild Sanelly, David Walters, Dele Sosimi and Theon Cross.

New single ‘Fine Tho’ bursts with energy, connecting their fondness for West African rhythms with various tributaries of European club culture. Held together by their innate pop appeal, the single aims for a sense of connection.

“This record is our coming-of-age,” says Kweku. “We have found a sound and a connection that allows us to talk to our audience. One of the hardest things for bands to do is have an audience that understands your sound.”
