Tora-i returns with new song ’10months’.
The songwriter realised a few dreams in 2022, such as supporting her long-time inspiration Snoh Aalegra at a sold out London show. Taking this energy into the studio, her new project ‘& What Else?’ finds Tora-i upping the ante once more.
Precicous and ambitious, it lands on May 18th, and a string of singles are emerging. Due to play London art-space ICA on June 21st, it’s an exciting period for the songwriter, who melds dulcet R&B with crystalline electronics.
’10months’ is communication at its most direct, a song of yearning that ultimately has to admit defeat. It’s a lyric about attempting to make a situation work, and how sometimes you have to know where best to place your energies.
