KhakiKid has the world at his feet right now. The Dublin-based rapper lit up 2022, with his excellent debut EP ‘Elevator Music’ amplifying his creativity to fresh levels. Continually creative, he’s hitting the road in May for a run of UK and Ireland headline shows.
A cult hero in his native city, KhakiKid breezes back into our lives with impeccable new single ‘Underbite.’ a dose of hard-hitting rap that still feels open and melodic. Inviting us into his world, the track dives into some darker emotions, and it finds Khaki – Abdu Huss – aligning with co-conspirator Carsten2x.

“’Underbite’ is about feeling lost or stuck in a dark place. Carsten had this hook about being down and out, and how you don’t want others to see you when you’re in that state.”
The verse hones in on those bleaker aspects, but an awareness of the light is always there – ‘Underbite.’ never once loses sight of hope. The collaboration brings out this light-shade dichotomy, with KhakiKid citing the pair’s ability to “open each other up to different perspectives on songwriting. It helped me become more comfortable talking about my past and the things that are hardest to talk about. I’ve always wanted to experiment with different sounds too and working with people with experience really helps. It’s made me really excited to work with others too.”
