Australian Duo Sleeper & Snake Return With 'Flats Falling'

Posted by

Sleeper & Snake have a curious, completely distinct sound.

Two figures from the Australian underground – Amy Hill and Al Montfort – their wiry song structures are shot through with superbly bizarre idiosyncrasies.

Last year’s ‘Junction and High’ debut moved in a lane of its own, gathering their off piste whimsies into a potent sonic brew.

Working quickly, new album ‘Fresco Shed’ is incoming, releasing in the UK by underground stalwarts Upset The Rhythm.

We’re able to share new song ‘Flats Falling’, built around that gentle drum machine pulse, and a sawing cello line.

The smoky saxophone wisps provide atmosphere, while the matter-of-fact vocal back-and-forth is disarmingly direct.

The pair chant: “Disclaimer, disclaimer, disclaimer. The place has a curse…”

Tune in now.

Sleeper & Snake will release new album ‘Fresco Shed’ on September 25th.
