MckNasty Links With Kojey Radical, Laudable For 'Not Nice'

MckNasty is a true all-rounder.

A songwriter, producer, and performer, his undoubted skills led to him being drawn into the orbit of jazz visionary Kamaal Williams.

A key figure on Williams’ recent album ‘The Return’, he honed his MD skills across numerous projects before returning to his solo vision.

New release ‘Not Nice’ is a moving, timely composition, one that picks up on the societal energies unleashed by the cruel death of George Floyd.

Penned in the aftermath of those emotional Black Lives Matter protests, it’s meditation on Black identity, masculinity, and the fragility of life.

The production follows the African tradition of the talking drum, a hugely inventive technique that pushes ‘Not Nice’ into a highly individual zone.

UK rapper Kojey Radical appears on the track, joined by South African peer Laudable to voice the song.

It’s a superb aspect of curation; two men, two artists from different hemispheres, yet their experiences connect and offer fresh perspective.
