Posted by South Korean shoegaze musician Parannoul is starting the new year off strong. Yesterday he released the new single “연말 다짐,” which translates to “year-end resolution.” He posted the song on Instagram, along with the note: “Happy 2026! I hope to achieve something this year.”
“연말 다짐” has a real soaring aura to it. The dramatic shifts at the end remind me a bit of Pet Sounds. There’s some psychedelic string treatment and a whimsical entrance of bells. It’s a lovely introduction to the new year and the magic Parannoul has in store for us.
