Dead Horse Open Up The Next Chapter With ‘I Would Die’

Dead Horse are making their return with their latest single, ‘I Would Die.’ Offering a glimpse into their forthcoming debut album, the track delivers a slick, punkish grit that travels far and wide. Throughout, the outfit lean into rough-around-the-edges acoustics, piecing together a crowd-ready hook that tugs between infatuation, love, and obsession. It’s a punchy bounce-back that feels particularly daring, arriving alongside visuals that dabble in storytelling.

The current day sees Dead Horse gear up towards the release of ‘Caught To Nonsense’, due to land on September 11th via Sister 9 Records. Made up of Kevin Lennon, Josh Kemp and Duncan Clark, the trio hone in on indie nostalgia, swinging between emotional extremes from one verse to the next.

Speaking on the track, the band share: “I Would Die is a love song, but pushed to an extreme. It’s about that overwhelming feeling of finding someone and wanting to give yourself to them completely, the kind of devotion that feels romantic, dramatic and slightly dangerous all at once. The lyrics are deliberately simple and direct, almost like a mantra, with the repeated line ‘I would die for you’ turning from a declaration of love into something more intense and consuming.”

They continue: “In the studio, we wanted to keep the intensity at the centre: the feeling of a band driving one idea forward until it becomes almost devotional. Compared with some of the more absurd or chaotic moments on the album, this one feels more exposed, still rough-edged and noisy, but emotionally very straight-faced.”

Tune in now.
