Sydney’s rising dream pop duo Micra met entirely by chance.
Two huge music fans, the pair were placed next to one another at a show by Unknown Mortal Orchestra in the city, and immediately connected.
Swapping details, rehearsals started almost immediately, with Micra blossoming with natural, almost effortless ease.
New single ‘Under My Skin’ continues their rise, and it matches the heavenly harmonies of Beach House, say, with a beatific electronic wash.
Bathed in light, the track has this push and pull between melody and noise, exploring the idea of “learning to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.”
Out now, singer Ivana Kafedjiyska comments…
“It’s the realisation that everything that you feel happens under the skin (and) the fixation of time passing, which I tend to focus on a little too much. All these discomforts and thoughts are intimate sensations under the skin. Sometimes you have to sit in a feeling and let go only by letting it in.”
We’re able to share the visuals in full, a neat expansion on Micra’s creative universe.
Wandering across a desert landscape, the duo are placed against a sandy firmament, their music dissolving into fragrant air.
Tune in now.
