A songwriter of rare depth, the emotional undercurrents from his work are innately tied to the world around him.
Based in Berlin – by way of Paris – he’s watched the city’s lockdown unfold, and endured the impact this has had on the population.
Locked away and isolated, Aime began channelling these feelings into music, creating something new in the process.
‘In This Dark Time’ is his solemn evocation of this age of coronavirus anciety, the pensive vocals matched against flecks of electronic production. Thoughtful, while yearning towards distant hope, it’s a song about endurance. He comments:
“‘In This Dark Time’ is about being stuck in a difficult phase, desiring a rebirth, and turning to love to bring a new start. The song has a melancholic yet driven feeling, which for me invokes a sense of nostalgia, despair, and still, a hope for the future.”
“I wrote and recorded the track recently at home during the on-going Covid-19 crisis. It is a reflection on these trying times where everyone is isolated, prompted towards inner considerations and facing existential fears.”
