Gothenburg three-piece Typical Girls have shared their new EP in full.
The band draw on members of local indie pop luminaries, but find the musicians involved reaching up towards the light.
Indeed, the first rays of spring permeate their new EP, which has just received a second vinyl pressing.
It’s a gloriously uplifting listen, with a kind of lo-fi baggy sway rushing through ‘Las Palmas’, imbuing it with a beatific sense of light.
A fantastic, fully-formed pop song, it’s followed by the shimmering down-beat ‘Tension’ and an unexpected but wonderfully charming take on The Troggs’ classic ‘A Girl Like You’.
Matching tropical elements to prime Swedish indie pop, Typical Girls’ self-titled EP splices Sarah Records DNA with some Balearic moments.
We caught this one via Glasgow’s expert vinyl emporium Monorail, and it seems that vinyl copies are still available.
