The songwriter is perhaps best known for his key role in Mercury winning nu rave outfit Klaxons, but his solo career is throwing up some real gems.
Last year’s fantastic ‘The Performer’ LP flew under the radar due to the pandemic, but it was a wonderful exploration of some quite personal themes.
Mixed by Soulwax brothers David and Stephen Dewaele, the record is now set to be followed by a fresh chapter.
New single ‘Release Party’ is a low-key banger, a brooding slice of lounge lizard songwriting that exudes 70s glamour and arch Modernism.
In his words, ‘Release Party’ is about “tension and release and the dreams and fantasies we make…”
