Misty Coast are a universe unto themselves.
Drifting, caustic noise pop wrapped in layers of blissful melody, the pair melt together classic vibes with the more adventurous side of shoegaze.
New single ‘In A Million Years’ is out now, a fantastic return that is available digitally, and also on the strictly limited Gazze Records’ compilation vinyl, ‘Oslosphere Vol. 1’.
It’s a perfectly formed pearl of a song, with the rumbling fuzz effects channeling the Mary Chain at their most confrontational, while letting in shards of pure, white light.
Vocalist Linn Frøkedal steers Misty Coast towards the light, saying that “the song represents a recurring theme on the album, and it lingers in thoughts about whether we should choose to ignore the reality outside of what we experience as our world – or if we should dare to seek a larger, perhaps unpleasant truth.”
We’re able to share the full video, and it adds a shimmering cinematic layer to the Norwegian project’s songwriting.
A bold, narrative fuelled clip, it follows the path of one young woman into a dark descent.
Tune in now.
