Sweden’s Gidge have shared evocative new track ‘Seems To Be Getting Closer’.
The project centres on a pair of talented producers, with Ludvig Stolterman and Jonatan Nilsson combining to forge new pathways.
The pair’s semi-mythical 2014 album ‘Autumn Bells’ was an extraordinary project, beautifully opaque electronics shot through with a real sense of the humane.
Spending time on other projects, Gidge return later this year with ‘New Light’, a glorious album fuelled by their potent musical chemistry.
Available to pre-order HERE we’re able to tease something new from the duo.
‘Seems To Be Getting Closer’ was informed by a trip to the Pacific North West, a space in the United States where distance seems to stretch to unimaginable qualities.
The undulating electronics take on a corporeal quality, rushing the listener across spaces both imaginary and real; opaque digitalism, it seems to suggest vast landscapes.
The duo comment…
“We made this song to feel like a journey, starting with a steady pulse, slowly moving with a celestial voice as a guiding light. Halfway through the track, everything becomes weightless before transcending into an energy-filled climactic final third. It’s one of the most technically complex tunes we’ve ever produced, compiled of well over a hundred layers of tracks.”
Tune in now.
