The scattered fragments that make up The Mercy Stone have always been a difficult thing to channel.
The group’s free-wheeling creativity means that songs coalesce before being scattered, continually overhauled in the process.
Take new single ‘Pale Moon’. Atmospheric guitar-based songwriting, it was actually years in fine-tuning, shape-shifting into vastly distinct sonic objects.
Out now, it’s a fine song “about darkness and betrayal”, as leader Scott Grady explains.
He adds: “The music was written and rewritten four different times over the course of several years before it coalesced into this final version.”
