Phoenix Laoutaris is something special.
The Totnes born, London based artist is a real multi-disciplinary talent, matching potent songwriting skills to soulful vocals and biting lyricism.
Debut single ‘Flowers’ blends all these aspects of her artistry and more, resulting in something incredibly exciting.
The songwriting cuts deeper than most, the sound of someone pushing themselves to the outermost limits.
The beat has that sub-zero drill feel, while Phoenix brings some R&B flair in her vocal; “Cause you, locked my love away, now I can’t trust the same…”
Out now on WEAREBLK, it’s a “cathartic” song, the attempt by Phoenix Laoutaris to pin-point intimate emotions within her own life.
She comments: “The song pinpoints a moment and time in my life when I was coming to terms with the reality of relationships. That you can’t always trust what feels real. I’ve always been independent but I learnt to never put your independence onto another soul…”
“‘Flowers’ was written as a cathartic release, hoping It would resonate with people in similar situations. I wanted it to be real and for people to feel my energy at that very moment. Pick a flower and it will die. That’s sometimes the reality.”
