South London’s very own Duchess is back.
Her EP ‘Early Days’ signalled the arrival of a bold, soulful talent, someone who was steeped in vintage R&B but felt confident to twist it to her own ends.
Speaking from the heart, Duchess has an ultra-relatable appeal – she’s the gal at the party you want to be friends with, the person next door you can rely on.
New single ‘Ever Ever’ is out now, and it’s reminiscent of Minnie Riperton and Jill Scott, while also maintaining UK slant.
Produced by Show N Prove and PRGRSHN, it comes backed by a neat performance clip, which Clash is lucky enough to premiere.
A reminder of the raw potency Duchess can exude, it’s a sign that – when this is all over – she’s going to be an artist to catch in the flesh.
Duchess comments…
“Filming this video was a breath of fresh air, it had been a while since I’d been around my team and been able to to perform, so this was amazing even if it was just for the camera!”
“I was on the phone with my sister and manager and we were all venting about how much we miss getting our nails done and then it just came to me! We thought why don’t we film the song in a nail shop… it just felt perfect as it’s something I enjoy and has an impact on how I feel. I love the laid back vibe of the video yet still full of colour. I’m excited to hit go and take everyone on this journey with me!”
