A 30 year old UK man changed his name to Celine Dion over the Christmas period.
Staffordshire native Thomas Dodd enjoyed a few vinos over Christmas, and woke up one morning to a mysterious letter.
It seems that while drunk on Christmas Eve he changed his name, and emerged from his hangover as Mr Celine Dion.
“I wasn’t aware I had done it until I found that envelope in my post,” he told the New York Post. “I honestly, hand on heart, don’t remember doing it!”
He continued: “I remember watching the concert and remember getting rather tipsy… I wasn’t aware I had done it until I found that envelope in my post. Initially, I had to sit down as I couldn’t believe it – so I then checked my bank which confirmed it all.”
Posting the letter on social media, the story went viral. Remarkably, Mr Celine Dion seems to be a title that will stick.
He adds: “Once it sunk in, I signed it straightaway as I bloody love her! As it stands — I’m keeping it! ([Though it) depends how difficult it makes my life!”
Tier 4 is the least of my worries – I’ve just got home to some post. Apparently at some point over Christmas I’ve had one too many vinos and legally changed my name to Celine Dion! pic.twitter.com/ZchXWiqhUw
