Chicago, IL – People were counting on 6ix9ine to come out of his cave to troll Lil Durk following the tragic news of his older brother DThang’s murder.
Right on cue, the polarizing rapper popped up in Akademiks’ comment section on Sunday (June 6) to leave some tasteless remarks about Lil Durk’s latest loss.
“@lildurk tell the truth about yo Gang man they really dyin,” he wrote alongside several laughing emojis. “@lildurk stop the senseless violence.” From there, he moved over to The Shade Room and left a sarcastic “RIP” under a post about DThang’s death.

6ix9ine has been taunting Lil Durk for months, angering several other Chicago rappers in the process.
Shortly after Durk’s Only The Family artist King Von was fatally shot outside of an Atlanta hookah bar last November, 6ix9ine accused Durk of exploiting his death to sell more copies of his mixtape, The Voice.
At the time, the project was on pace to sell roughly 55,000 total album-equivalent units in its first week. Seizing the moment to throw a jab, 6ix9ine made a distasteful comment about King Von that enflamed Von’s friends and fans.
“Used Von name for sales,” he wrote. “Is NOT blackballed has all industry support. 55k and his man was caught in 4K #KingVon REST IN PISS.”
Par for the course, the 24-year-old Brooklynite is back at it again, but Lil Durk has yet to publicly respond to his brother’s death or 6ix9ine’s antics.
According to TMZ, Cook County officials confirmed Dontay Banks Jr.— DThang’s government name — was found deceased on the 7900 block of S. Loomis Blvd. in Chicago and has been assigned a case number.
An autopsy still has to be completed to figure out the cause and manner of death, but alleged witnesses at the scene claim he was shot in the head and died instantly. He was 32.
