DaBaby’s homophobic comments at Rolling Loud resulted in being removed from festival lineups and backlash from the likes of The Roots’ Questlove and Elton John. But one person who doesn’t agree with all the criticism is Atlanta rapper Trouble, who went off in an almost four-minute Instagram video defending DaBaby on Tuesday (August 3).
“I’m not finna be on no politically correct shit or none of that shit dawg… I just rock how I rock and I feel how I feel,” Trouble began. “And you muthafuckas really starting to piss me the fuck off, bro. On lord, all this shit just fake as fuck. How in the fuck a muthafucka just sit back with a smile on your face on this fake ass cancel culture shit, watching a n-gga shit just demolish who you just lifting up, for one muthafucking mistake about shit.
“And you acting like a n-gga just went on this bitch and said, ‘Fuck all gays, I don’t fuck with no homos, none of this shit.’ N-gga said, ‘If you don’t got AIDs or HIV, put your muthafucking lighter up.’ Bitch, if I was in the stage I woulda put my lighter up… bitch, I don’t got it. What about the 180,000 muthafuckas who did put they lighters up out there in the stand?”
Trouble continued, “You muthafuckas fake as fuck and all these rap n-ggas, you wanna do songs with n-ggas when it’s been official ’cause you ready to get on a n-gga shit, ride a n-gga dick, but you don’t got shit to say when that shit taken away from a n-gga or the n-gga in a jail. All this shit is just too fucking fugazi. N-gga ain’t against that shit. I might not agree with that shit, but at the same time I don’t have to. N-gga not against muthafuckas who gay or none of that shit, you do what the fuck you do in your own time. We our own human beings… we grown as fuck. But at the same time, you can’t force a muthafucka to fuck with what you fuck with.
“When we gonna get back to being real? They say conversation rule the nation. They on CNN and all this ass shit… ‘Conversation calls change.’ When the fuck we gonna have a conversation about some shit then versus just saying, ‘Fuck a n-gga.’ We make the culture, we make the music, we make the dances, we him, we the shit. You muthafuckas need us. We make the fashion, we tell you muthafuckas what’s bool and you follow suit. And you other n-ggas, you muthafuckas, a bunch of house n-ggas, a bunch of muthafucking sheep, just following.”

On Wednesday (August 4), Miley Cyrus took to Instagram to show support for DaBaby and asked him to reach out through direct messages.
“It’s easier to cancel someone than to find forgiveness and compassion in ourselves or take the time to change hearts and minds,” she wrote. “There’s no more room for division if we want to keep seeing progress! Knowledge is power! I know I still have so much to learn!”
She continued in the caption, “@DaBaby check your DMS – would love to talk and see how we can learn from each other and help be part of making a more just and understanding future.”
