Benzino’s long-running beef with Eminem has taken a sudden and unexpected turn. On Thursday (March 17), the former publisher of The Source shared a tweet tagging Eminem and assuring his fans he was done slandering the anointed “rap god.” The tweet comes as somewhat of a surprise considering the 56-year-old has directed his ire toward Slim Shady for several years now.
“To all @Eminem fans and Stans all over the world,” he wrote. “The beef is officially over. I’m letting y’all know I have no hate towards any of his fans & recognize his contributions to Hip Hop. He truly is apart of the culture & 1 of the best to rock the mic regardless of his color.”

Benzino went on to say he truly wants the best for his daughter, HipHopDX Rising Star Coi Leray whose relationship with her father has been publicly strained. He then vowed to return a different person after a short social media hiatus.
“I realize that me going back and forth with his fans is not good for the culture, my spirit, my legacy and most important, my beautiful, talented daughter Coi Leray,” he continued. “I don’t want any negativity from me affect her dream. This is truly over. God Bless All.
“I’m falling back from Twitter for awhile but when I come back you will see a different Benzino.”

Benzino has been going at Eminem since the early 2000s when the former “Hip Hop Bible” announced in a press conference it was in possession of an old tape in which a young Eminem was rapping racial slurs against Black women.
While Shady admitted they were made after a bitter breakup with a Black girlfriend and publicly apologized, he still sued The Source for defamation and copyright infringement. A judge ultimately ruled in the publication’s favor and Eminem subsequently dropped the lawsuit.
For roughly 20 years, Benzino held on to his ire for Eminem and routinely went after his dedicated fanbase. Just last month, Benzino targeted Slim Shady and his loyal legion of Stans once again.
“To all you pussy ass Stans, we all know y’all are the most corniest non violent coward fan base hip hop has ever seen,” he tweeted. “I have a restaurant in Atlanta 5071 Peachtree industrial boulevard Chamblee GA. stop tweeting and pull up on me you pussies.”
He added, “I been left this shit alone but since the COWARD ASS STANS still wanna talk shit and hide then it’s still fuck Eminem and if you got a problem with me, do something about it nothing you ever said has affected me in anyway. I know how to fight and I got big sticks. So pull up.”
Meanwhile, Eminem, who typically ignores Benzino, just continues to smash Billboard records. Most recently, he became the Recording Industry Association of America’s (RIAA) most decorated artist with 73.5 million new certifications.
