All four police officers involved in the death of George Floyd have been arrested and charged, but Beyoncé is reminding her fans there’s still work to be done.
The charges finally came down on fired Minnesota officers Derek Chauvin, Thomas Lane, J.A. Keung and Tou Thao on Wednesday (June 3), over a week after Floyd’s death on May 25.
While the prior lack of accountability was the initial intent behind the worldwide protests that have erupted since, an arrest is only the first step – and Bey brought a message to Instagram to make sure people remember that.
“The world came together for George Floyd,” the posts reads, along with an image of the streets of Minneapolis flooded with people in Floyd’s name. “We know there is a long road ahead. Let’s remain aligned and focused in our call for real justice.”

Conviction are an even bigger hurdle, which Busta Rhymes noted when reacting to the charges as well.
“Serious and real convictions needed next,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
Bey’s not the only one in the Carter household speaking out, as her husband JAY-Z has been vocal amid the quest for justice for Floyd as well.
Minnesota governor Tim Walz revealed he received a call from Hov himself last weekend, urging for him to do what’s right. Walz listened, and days later appointed Attorney General Keith Ellison to the case.
