Big Sean and Jhené Aiko have dated each other over the years, but they’ve also joined forces on the musical front. In 2016, the couple dropped a collaborative EP titled TWENTY88, which was a hit with fans. People have been wondering if a sequel would ever materialize, and it looks like it’s coming sooner rather than later.
On Thursday (February 3), Big Sean joined Queen Naija on Instagram Live to talk about their new collaboration, “Hate Our Love,” but also shed some light on the forthcoming collaborative project with Jhené. When Naija asked what he was working on, Sean Don dropped the news with no hesitation.
“I’m here working on [a] new album and new TWENTY88, me and Jhené,” the Detroit rapper said with a grin. “Shit, we’ve been working on it for a little bit… It’s coming along good, though.”

Big Sean and Jhené Aiko’s first TWENTY88 project debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, selling 40,000 copies in its first week. The eight-track effort boasted guest appearances from legendary R&B duo K-Ci & JoJo, as well as producer/singer Detail.
Rumors surrounding a TWENTY88 sequel started to swirl last month when Big Sean took to Instagram with a brief clip of him in the studio with Jhené. There was no clear indication of what they were working on, but many fans hoped it was a new TWENTY88 project.
During an appearance on Ebro In The Morning in 2020, Big Sean spoke about his desire to make another album with Jhené Aiko, who he described as one of the “easiest” people to work with.
“Yeah, I hope so,” he said when asked if the duo would ever make another project. “Collabing with [Jhené] is like one of the easiest things ever, you know? When we both are in a mood, you know? ‘Cause when you in a relationship, too, sometimes you can be irritated with each other.”
