Los Angeles, CA – Angela “Angie” Kukawski of Boulevard Management — a Los Angeles area financial management firm with a client roster that includes Kanye West, the Kardashians, Nicki Minaj, Offset and the Tupac Shakur Estate — has reportedly died.
According to Variety, the Ventura County Coroner’s Office confirmed the 55-year-old’s death on Wednesday (December 29). Sources said the cause of death appears to be homicide and pointed to a December 22 incident that stretches from the San Fernando Valley to Simi Valley.
Local law enforcement arrested 49-year-old Jason Barker for the crime after he allegedly moved Kukawski’s lifeless body from the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Van Nuys to Simi Valley in the trunk of his vehicle. Los Angeles Police Department officers found Kukawski with a stab wound to her neck and ultimately arrested Barker at a relative’s home.
Officer Casey Nicholson, a Simi Valley division spokesman, said LAPD investigators then returned to Van Nuys to continue their investigation while Simi police stayed with the vehicle until it was towed.
Friends said the mother of five was “beloved” in the industry. Boulevard’s Todd Bozick said in a statement to Variety: “We are saddened and heartbroken by the loss of our colleague, Angie Kukawski. Angie was a kind, wonderful person, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Our deepest condolences go out to all of Angie’s family and friends.”
Barker is being held on $3 million bond at Los Angeles County Jail as noted on the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s website. He was taken into custody on December 23 and is expected in court on January 12. No motive for the crime has been disclosed. HipHopDX sends our condolences to the Kukawski family.
