New York, N.Y. – Cardi B is looking to have a lawsuit with her name on it thrown completely out. According to documents viewed by TMZ, Cardi claims she had no involvement in the beatdown of aggressive autograph seeker Giovanni Arnold, who was brutalized outside a 2018 Met Gala afterparty in NYC.
The Bronx bombshell argues footage shows Arnold berating them with insults after his failed attempt at obtaining a few autographs from the superstar couple.
“Please beat me up,” Arnold allegedly can be heard saying, “I’ll take all of your money.”
Arnold claims three security guards were ordered by Cardi B to take him down in front of the Mark Hotel, but the Invasion of Privacy rapper says she had nothing to do with the fight and didn’t know the assailants. For that reason, Cardi believes the NYC courts should throw the lawsuit out altogether.
Footage from the altercation emerged of Arnold being transferred to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. New York police investigated the incident but declared the case closed in 2019.
On the music side, Cardi B has been laying low in recent months following the release of her latest No. 1 single “Up.” The 28-year-old’s almost been too quiet, so she might be hard at work putting the finishing touches on her much-anticipated sophomore album, which Cardi B’s expected to release at some point in 2021.
