Days after Cardi B properly gave Chicago its credit for starting the wave of drill music in the United States, JT of City Girls is putting one troll in his place.
Following the release of Fivio Foreign’s “Top Notch” single featuring JT and Yung Miami, one Twitter user tweeted and later deleted a toothy critique of the popularity of drill, writing “So everyone just doing drill now?”
The comment quickly caught JT’s attention, who responded on Twitter Friday (April 1) with a not so subtle jab back.
“Y’all hoes shut up n-ggas make the same type music all them time,” she began. “Bitches hopping on drill beats & yall in a frenzy trying to create wars! Listen or don’t listen matter fact get off here & go wash yours walls, both of them!!!”

The comment comes as New York’s variation of drill has entered into national prominence with acts like the late Pop Smoke, Dusty Locane and Fivio carrying the torch. Since the death of Pop, Fivio has run with the drill scene, curating plenty of buzz ahead of his debut album B.I.B.L.E. which is slated to arrive on April 8.
The City Girls made their drill debut alongside Fivio for “Top Notch” on Friday, complete with a New York centric visual from the streets to the stairwells and the bodegas.
On the track JT raps, “I don’t cock block or cop pleas/I’m the baddest bitch on your newsfeed (Ayy)/Y’all gossiping, but who the news feed?/(Y’all gossiping, but who the news feed?)/I’m in the sky box, you in the nose bleeds (Damn)/Fly bitches need privacy.”
