Directed by David O. Russell (of American Hustle, Three Kings and Silver Linings Playbook fame) Amsterdam takes place in the 1930s and serves as the ultimate mystery.
Bale, JDW and Margot — who play a doctor, an attorney, and a nurse, respectively — made a pact in the early 20th century to always protect one another and go to great lengths in order to keep their ends of the deal throughout. They are pinned as the murderers of a white man after discovering a dead person in a box.
The blockbuster has added intrigue by claiming in the trailer that “a lot of this actually happened” while altering the course of American history.
Drake is no stranger to getting behind Hollywood projects having also executive produced HBO’s Euphoria, Netflix’s Top Boy and the 2017 Vince Carter documentary The Carter Effect.
