Drake and DJ Khaled tend to make magic whenever they lock in time at the studio, and it looks like they’re looking to repeat that in 2022.
In an interview clip posted to his Instagram on Sunday (January 16), Khaled promised he and Drake have another one on the way — and according to the We The Best boss, the upcoming collaboration is “special.”
“Me and Drake — first of all, we brothers, that’s family,” he said. “And 2022, if you’re [asking] does Khaled and Drake have something? Of course, we’re always going to have something. You know, we’re family.
“But it gotta come out a certain way. I gotta bring it out to the world in a certain way, because our records are special. I’m not going to tell you when, but I’m going to tell you when it comes… it’s coming, you can hear it.”

Drake added more fuel to the fire when he posted a photo of him in the studio on his Instagram Story on Sunday. The 6 God has been traveling all over the country celebrating the success of his blockbuster 2021 album Certified Lover Boy, and fans were relieved to see him back in the office so soon.

DJ Khaled got fans even more excited with another Instagram post of him getting on FaceTime with Drake. The Toronto megastar hasn’t said anything about the potential collaboration and probably won’t, so people will have to rely on Khaled and his lively manner to give any updates.

Drake and DJ Khaled have a long and fruitful relationship, joining forces on hits such as “I’m On One,” “No New Friends” and “For Free.”
Most recently, they connected on 2020’s “POPSTAR” and “GREECE,” with the former debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and going double platinum — thanks in part to the Justin Bieber-assisted music video.
In an interview with Billboard later that year, DJ Khaled delved into his chemistry with Drizzy.
“That’s my brother for real,” he said. “He’s my friend for real. He loves me and I love him too. Also, as people that are two music execs, two guys that make music, two guys that put out albums, two guys that are bosses and CEOS, we relate to each other in a great way meaning IT’S BIG.
“If I come to Drake like, ‘Let’s do something,’ in his head, he’s already saying that ‘Khaled isn’t doing just anything.’ That’s how I look at Drake too, because everything he do is big. So, if anything, I’m complimenting him because I don’t wanna waste nobody’s time and we’re brothers. So we gotta do it big.”
