Los Angeles, CA – Drake has been bringing his 3-year-old son Adonis around more often.
After a tear-filled appearance at the 2021 Billboard Awards last month, Adonis popped up at the L.A. Lakers versus Phoenix Suns playoff game at the Los Angeles Staples Center on Thursday (June 3) with his famous father — but didn’t sit with him.
According to TMZ, the distance was likely put in place for Adonis’ safety. But Drake did momentarily join his son to point out a few players on the court. The game didn’t end on a high note for L.A. Lakers fans. The LeBron James-led team wound up losing 113-100, meaning they won’t be in the finals.
The world didn’t learn about Adonis’ existence until Pusha T accused Drake of being a deadbeat dad on the 2018 diss track “The Story Of Adidon.”
Drake addressed his son on the 2018 Scorpion track “Emotionless” and explained why he was hesitant to show his son in public.
“I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world,” he rapped. “I was hidin’ the world from my kid/From empty souls who just wake up and look to debate/Until you starin’ at your seed, you can never relate.”
Just last week, the toddler faced an onslaught of criticism when Drake shared a photo of Adonis and some of his artwork as a way to tease his highly anticipated Certified Lover Boy album. People began comparing Adonis’ artwork to Kanye West’s daughter North and her Bob Ross-esque painting Kim Kardashian posted earlier this year.
Drake fans quickly concluded the bullying and constant scrutiny is the sole reason Drake didn’t want to reveal his son in the first place.
