Just about everyone is looking to get in on the NFT (Non-Fungible Token) craze these days. The latest celebrity to reportedly join the mix is Eminem. According to Business Insider, Slim Shady purchased a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT that resembles himself for about $462,000.
Em made the purchase of his first NFT on the OpenSea platform where he’s repeatedly opened his wallet and has already acquired 22 NFTs in just a week of having an account under the alias of Shady_Holdings. Many were dubious to it being the real Eminem, but he’s since updated his social media accounts with photos of the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT.

Upon finding out it was actually the Detroit legend, user GeeGaza was fascinated he made a deal with Eminem to welcome him into the NFT business.
“I’m living in a simulation,” he joked. “Thank you @Eminem for buying my ape and joining the club! Madness. Let me write a lyric in your next single.”

Eminem isn’t the only rapper to get down on the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs. Lil Baby and Post Malone are also proud owners of the exclusive NFT club along with NBA superstar Stephen Curry.
In addition to the NFTs, Eminem collected another Spotify record before closing out 2021. Slim Shady broke his own record of having the highest streamed discography on Spotify, with 11 of his solo albums accumulating over one billion streams on the streaming platform.
