The Bronx, NY – Fat Joe is stepping up for his home borough of The Bronx following a devastating high-rise fire that left 19 people dead. Joey Crack led a relief effort with the New York City Mayor’s Fund earlier this month and will continue to raise money by hosting a show on Hot 97 on Saturday (January 22).
Fat Joe and friends are set to host a radio show from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET to help the families impacted by NYC’s deadliest blaze since 1990. Remy Ma, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, French Montana, Dream Doll, Slick Rick, B-Lovee and more are scheduled to make guest appearances throughout the fundraiser.
“I’d like to express my appreciation for my family at HOT97, WBLS and all my friends that are supporting this fundraising effort,” Joe said. “It’s critical that we continue to come together and uplift our Bronx brothers and sisters who are suffering physically, mentally and emotionally from this tragedy.”
Joe’s also already secured donations from JAY-Z and DJ Khaled.

In total, 44 people were injured as a result of the fire, with victims’ ages ranging from two to 50 years old. Investigators believe a malfunctioning electric space heater was the source of the blaze and smoke filled the 17-story building due to a pair of defunct self-closing doors.
Cardi B is also aiding those who lost loved ones in the tragic fire. The Bronx rap star has offered to pay the funeral and burial costs for the families of the 19 people killed, according to TMZ.
“I cannot begin to imagine the pain and anguish that the families of the victims are experiencing, but I hope that not having to worry about the costs associated with burying their loved ones will help as they move forward and heal,” she said. “I send my prayers and condolences to everyone affected by this horrific tragedy.”
