A friend of late Brooklyn rapper KJ Balla is being eyed by the feds for allegedly helping kill someone who was a person-of-interest in KJ’s murder.
According to a report from NY Daily News on Tuesday (October 20), feds believe 21-year-old Anthony Williams drove the getaway car for the June 19 drive-by shooting of Hassan Brown, who’d been named a person-of-interest in KJ’s May death. Williams is reportedly captured on video driving up to a car containing Brown and having a passenger shoot him. The car used, a blue sedan, was found completely burned up near JFK airport days after the shooting.
Following a memorial for KJ in May, Williams reportedly joined in on another shooting with another person, but prosecutors haven’t confirmed whether they believe that was also done in an attempt to avenge his friend’s murder.
KJ was shot and killed in a drive-by in his hometown on May 22. He was rushed to Brookdale University Medical Center but sadly, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. A 26-year-old man with him was also shot in the back, stomach and arm, but his injuries weren’t life-threatening.
Williams is being held without bail on weapons possession charges from previous cases, but can apply for bail at a future as-of-yet unnamed date.
Just before his passing, KJ had released “Back To Back” with fellow Brooklyn MC Jay Gwuapo. Revisit the video to the track below.
