Future knows how to stay in a pocket and give fans what they want. After remaining relatively quiet in 2021, the FreeBandz leader dropped I NEVER LIKED YOU on Friday (April 29) and much like his previous six albums, it’s set to dominate all other albums.
According to ChartData, the album is projected to arrive at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with an estimated 175,000 to 200,000 total album-equivalent units earned, which would mark the biggest debut for an album in 2022. In total, it would be the biggest first week of Future’s career, topping albums such as 2015’s DS2 as well as the double effort of 2017’s Future and HNDRXX.

The 16-track effort features guest appearances from usual Pluto collaborators such as Drake and Gunna, Kanye West, EST Gee, Tems and Kodak Black.
In the lead-up to I NEVER LIKED YOU, Future executive produced Ye’s Donda 2, where their “Keep It Burnin” collaboration first originated. An official video for the single arrived days before I NEVER LIKED YOU was released with both men embracing their darker sides.
Even with the album dominating Apple Music charts and social media, Future isn’t slowing down. According to Young Scooter, the album’s deluxe edition will arrive on Monday (May 2), though it’s unclear how many new tracks will appear or guests. Scooter has had plenty of insight in Future’s camp, leading Future to even reveal an album was coming for fans in April.
“I’m putting myself out there,” Future told GQ regarding the album. “Sharing my lifestyle with the world. Sharing my pain with the world. Sharing my ups, sharing my downs with the entire universe. I believe in the energy of the universe and manifestation. That’s why I’m giving myself, because I’m willing to correct myself. I don’t want to just…be wrong. I’m willing to give you all of me, so you can tell me how to build on me, and make me a better me.”
