Orange County, FL – Florida rapper GlokkNine was arrested on five counts of attempted second-degree murder with a firearm on Friday (July 24) but few details were available at the time.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, GlokkNine — real name Jacquavius Dennard Smith — was taken into custody after a shooting in Orlando’s Rosemont neighborhood on Thursday (July 23). Smith was charged with one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in addition to the second-degree murder charges.
Smith is currently being held at the Orange County jail after a judge revoked his bond in a separate drug case, in which he is charged with oxycodone possession. His bond for the attempted-murder and weapons charges is set at $35,600.
Police responded to a shooting call on Thursday night around 10 p.m. local time. The woman who lives at the home told officers she and three of her children were in the living room watching when her other daughter ran into the room screaming “Get down, get down” as bullets hit their home.
The daughter told officers she was looking out of a bedroom window when she saw two black sedans park in front of the home. Several men exited the vehicles and started firing at the house. Police discovered bullet holes in the garage door, front door and a window along with shell casings on the street in front of the house. A neighbor’s vehicle also had a bullet hole in its rear tailgate.
Speaking to police, the daughter identified one suspect as “Ballpark,” an associate of Smith. She confirmed the two are “always together” Smith’s defense lawyer David Bigney told a judge Smith willingly surrendered to police the moment he found out there was a warrant for his arrest.
“He was completely cooperative,” Bigney said. “He is not a flight risk.”
At this time, Smith’s involvement in the shooting incident haven’t been divulged.
