Iggy Azalea’s brand new video for “I Am The Stripclub” manages to find a way to pack stripper escapades in the back of a truck with the ballroom group House Of Balmain but also has drawn plenty of controversy on social media.
The video, co-directed by Iggy and Thom Kerr, finds Iggy rocking a black wig and bodysuit while simultaneously having a tan which made her appear darker than her usual complexion. Fans immediately called out Iggy for “blackfishing,” a term coined by journalist Wanna Thompson about non-Black men or women utilizing Black features to pass off a certain image.
After clothing company boohoo posted a still photo from Iggy’s “I Am The Stripclub” video, fans reacted en masse.
“You are telling me that THIS is Iggy Azalea?” one Twitter user wrote. “When will the blackfishing cease? When.”

The newest single from Iggy’s upcoming End Of An Era album comes on the heels of the launch of her Parfum De Azalea fragrance line and the first signature scent, Devil’s Advocate. The fragrance line has been a year in the making for the Australian rapper and detailed her debut fragrance was meant to “embrace the duality of yourself.”
