Fans of Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) were put on a roller coaster when Kendrick Lamar announced he would be leaving the label following his upcoming album. Questions arose about the status of other core members, such as ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock, but it looks like things will be fine on that end.
On Wednesday (April 13), footage of Rock in the studio surfaced online, and fans could barely keep their excitement seeing the TDE rapper back at work. In the clip, the 90059 rapper enjoys his time listening to the new track that features him speaking on his Grammy win and more over a bass-heavy track.

Eastside Johnny’s last musical effort came in 2018 with his third studio album, Redemption, which debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200. Since then, Jay Rock has laid low until he started popping back up in the lab, such as what happened on his 37th birthday last month.
Rock took to his Instagram Story to show he celebrated his born day by linking up with his TDE brothers ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul in the studio. “Love y’all no questions bday vibes with my brothers!!!” he wrote on his Instagram Story.
Super producer Cardo Got Wings was at the studio that night and got fans excited over the mini-reunion by revealing Jay Rock, Q and Ab actually made a song together.
“N-ggas made a stanger last night,” he wrote alongside traffic light emojis.
Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith took to Instagram on Tuesday (April 12) to fan the TDE flames even more when he confirmed Ab-Soul’s next album was on the way. He also gave people a peek at the Black Lip Bastard cooking up in the studio.
“@souloho3 in the Stu getting ready… #TDE on the way,” Tiffith wrote alongside a clip of Soulo hard at work.
