Joey Bada$$ understands he’s got a long way to go to rebuild the trust with his fans. He can only tease music that’s “coming soon” so much, but now the Brooklyn native is ready to let his fans eat and finally deliver some much-needed tunes.
The 26-year-old took to Twitter on Thursday (January 6) to fuel more speculation that the first quarter of 2022 is going to be Joey Bada$$ season.
“I’m excited af rn. I know y’all been waiting, we finally bout to eat. ON ME,” he wrote. “I understand I gotta rebuild morale with my supporters. It’s been 5 years of stop & gos, I take full accountability but watch. We finally bout to eat… real good.”

With season two of Power Book III: Raising Kanan on the horizon, the 26-year-old rapper/actor has taken up boxing and his trainer posted a clip from a recent workout session that featured an unreleased Joey Bada$$ song booming through the gym’s speakers.
The unreleased track finds Joey tapping into the Brooklyn drill sound that has taken over his hometown as he collides with the burgeoning Fivio Foreign for a collaboration produced by UK drill maestro AXL Beats.

It’s been nearly five years since Joey Bada$$’s last album, ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$, which arrived in April 2017 and debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 with 51,000 total album-equivalent units. The Pro Era founder confirmed in a recent Instagram Live Q&A session that his next album will arrive in 2022.
“Shit, the album dropping this year for sure,” he said. “I ain’t going to say exactly when, though, because there’s certain rappers who be on my heels, so Ima just… it’s coming though.”
