The best gifts are the ones we don’t expect, but that might not be the case for Kim Kardashian. According to TMZ, a first-century Roman statue Kanye West gifted to the reality mogul in 2016 is a prized artifact of Italy and their government wants it back, ASAP.
Kim claims she just found out about the statue in her storage’s possession this week as Kanye made the purchase as part of a larger collection of items. The rare statue’s paperwork allegedly has her name on it as it belongs to the “Kim Kardashian dba Noel Roberts Trust,” which she’s reportedly used in the past to make some other major purchases.

Sources for Kim relayed to TMZ that she had no knowledge of the deal and was not involved in any part of the piece of art being shipped stateside in 2016. Federal agents claim designer Axel Vervoordt shipped the statue and he worked closely with the former couple as the primary interior designer of their cavernous Calabasas mansion.
Federal agents are currently trying to return the cultural treasure back to the Italian archaeological site. Vervoordt maintains his innocence claiming he correctly purchased the statue from a French gallery that originally got it from a German auction house.
Of course, this is just a minor roadblock as Kanye West and Kim Kardashian remain committed to going through with finalizing their divorce. Kim reportedly filed for divorce from Yeezy after more than six years of marriage in February.
