Los Angeles, CA – Anyone that has ordered merchandise from Kanye West‘s Yeezy brand knows to take their shipping estimates with a grain of salt. However, the lengthy delays have come back to bite Mr. West.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Yeezy Apparel LLC and Yeezy LLC have been ordered to fork out $950,000 after settling a civil lawsuit over slow shipping to customers on Monday (November 8).
The lawsuit — brought last month by the district attorneys of Los Angeles, Sonoma, Napa and Alameda counties — alleged Kanye’s Yeezy brand “engaged in unlawful business practices and false advertising by failing to ship items in a timely manner.”
Rapper and fashion mogul Ye's high-end clothing company Yeezy has agreed to pay $950,000 to settle a lawsuit over slow shipping to customers. Prosecutors allege the company violated California law by failing to send online orders within 30 days. https://t.co/Ki71NJW1rC

Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón said, “Online consumers are entitled to protection against unwarranted fees and unreasonably long waits for purchases to arrive on their doorsteps. We will enforce state and federal laws governing online shopping in Los Angeles County.”
The payment breakdown goes as follows: $200,000 in civil penalties to each of the four district attorney offices; $50,000 in restitution to the Consumer Protection Prosecution Trust Fund; and $25,000 in investigative costs.
With the settlement, Yeezy won’t be able to make false claims about shipping times going forward. California state law requires goods to be shipped out within 30 days and if not, the company must offer a refund or ship out a good of equal quality.
The news release also states that Kanye West’s Yeezy company was cooperative with the investigation, which began on November 3, and did not admit any wrongdoing.
Between his ongoing divorce from Kim Kardashian, purchasing multi-million dollar properties and promising more than $50 million to Beanie Sigel for coming up with the name “Yeezy,” Kanye’s bank account has seen a lot of activity in recent months.
On the music side, Kanye West recently offered an armistice to Drake to join him for a December 7 concert in support of freeing Larry Hoover.
