WSB-TV 2 Atlanta reports the shooting happened outside of the Monaco Hookah Lounge off Trinity Avenue early Friday morning after two large groups of people got into a fight and it escalated into gunfire. Two people were killed, one — believed to be King Von — is in critical condition and the other two are stable.
Police say another person was also hit by a car. So far, no suspects are in custody and police are asking for witnesses.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says two off-duty police officers, who were working security at the club, did shoot but were not injured.
“That physical altercation escalated into an exchange of gunfire with those groups,” Atlanta police Deputy Chief Timothy Peek said. “Two police officers who were working at that particular club, or lounge, noticed the altercation and engaged some of the people involved. There was an exchange of gunfire with police as well.”
Other reports suggest King Von’s brother is one of the deceased. HipHopDX has reached out to King Von’s team for more information. This is a developing story.
