Broward County, FL – Kodak Black was arrested in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on Friday (July 15) after police discovered 31 Oxycodone pills and at least $50,000 in his Dodge Durango. Responding officers said his tags and license were also expired. Just hours later, Kodak Black was able to bond out after posting $75,000 on Saturday morning (July 16).
In a video posted by NBC 6 reporter Ryan Nelson, the 25-year-old rapper was led out of Broward County Jail by his security team and refused to talk to anyone asking him questions about the arrest. But what caught everyone’s attention was what was happening off camera. As Kodak Black climbed into the black SUV awaiting him, someone shouted, “Flavor Flav! What’s up! Boyyyyyyy!”

Kodak Black isn’t the only rapper mistaken for Flavor Flav. In April 2021, a woman spotted Boosie Badazz in the airport and mistook him the Public Enemy hypeman.
“I was just in the fuckin’ airport, lady gon’ talk about Flavor Flav!” Boosie said at the time. “I don’t look like no damn Flavor Flav, I look like Boosie! That’s why I don’t wear these damn red glasses. Got me fucked up early in the morning… too early in the morning for that shit.”
He continued, “Flavor Flav … and I kept walkin’. Flav you can’t fuck with me man. Got me talkin’ bout I look like fuckin’ Flavor Flav.”

While Flavor Flav initially found it funny, he eventually grew tired of the joke and took to his Instagram Live to set the record straight.
“Ayo, this shit is getting out of fucking hand right now, man,” he said. “You know what I’m saying? Muthafuckas is coming up to me, calling me Lil Boosie on purpose. ‘Hey Lil Boosie, how you doing? Oh, Flavor Flav.’ I don’t look like no Lil muthafuckin’ Boosie. Aight?
“Boosie, look what the fuck you done started, son. You got everybody calling me you now. I don’t look like Lil Boosie. I look like Flavor muthafuckin’ Flav. So y’all get it right, aight? Word up, G. Boosie ain’t got the stats that I got. Boosie only got the stats that he got. So y’all remember that shit. I’m Flavor muthafuckin’ Flav, not Lil Boosie.”
As for Kodak, his latest arrest could spell big trouble for the Bill Israel rapper. In January 2021, he was granted a presidential pardon as one of Donald Trump’s last duties, allowing to get out of jail early. However, he remained under supervised release. Violating the terms of his probation could land him in back in jail.
